Why Victoria-era diseases are on the rise in England
Why Victoria-era diseases are on the rise in England
WARNING Don’t attempt to read this book all at once – it might just kill you either when your blood pressure explodes or you die laughing – except the joke is on us. It is our pockets which are picked as ludicrous amounts of OUR MONEY are thrown down the drain.
The government says it needs to cut welfare by £12 billion. Balderdash! All the government needs to do is stop wasting money – £120 BILLION wasted in the years 2011-2012.
But you need to read this book. It will put into perspective the government’s spin and lies over its AUSTERITY policies. When you see how the government spends our taxes, you will totally reject AUSTERITY CUTS for the con tricks they are.
On this blog, we have cited examples of government waste which run into billions of pounds. But a new report by the Taxpayer’s Alliance goes deep into government expenditure for 2011-2012 and has uncovered an amazing £120 billion waste of public funds!
The report, entitled ‘The Bumper Book of Government Waste’ shows that the government have wasted an average of £4,500 per household during the period 2011-2012.
£2,300,000 spent by Parliament on subsidies for restaurants, bars and cafes for members of the House of Lords.
£56,000 was the cost of binned food in Parliament.
£683,000 for revamping No. 10 Downing Street, including £30,000 specifically for the residential flat about No. 11.
£720,000 paid to professional actors for role playing exercises aimed at helping prison inmates become employed.
£4,500,000 spent on taxis to transport inmates and staff for the Prison Service.
£55,000,000 spent by the Ministry of Defence on…

Wage bill for BBC’s top earners rises by a fifth http://gu.com/p/4ajpz/stw
So AUSTERITY does not apply to the publicly funded BBC. How about those who preach to us practising what they preach? Why does a newsreader get paid a salary of half a million? Where are the AUSTERITY ZEALOTS when you need them?
Suggestion – scoop up a handful of unemployed graduates or actors and train them to be newsreaders on Workfare for six months. Then if they pass muster, give them a job at the BBC on the average wage, saving millions. I’m sure most Licence Fee payers would rather have their money spent on high quality programmes or a reduced Licence Fee.
What kind of idiot pays someone HALF A MILLION for reading an autocue. (Someone spending someone elses money?)

Every MEP in Brussels costs an ‘eye watering’ THREE times more than MPs in Westminster http://bit.ly/SoippL via @MailOnline
AUSTERITY is being viciously imposed throughout Europe by the EU. Isn’t it time they practiced what they preach? Each MEP costs £1.8 million a year.
At home each MP costs £590,000. Up and down the country the workforce has been slashed leaving those still in work struggling to do their own work plus the work of departed colleagues. Apply AUSTERITY to the Houses of Parliament and cut the numbers of MPs by half. They can do the work of their departed colleagues by giving up their moonlighting jobs. And only pay them for the hours they work.
That MEP’s each cost £1.8 million a year is unbelievable while AUSTERITY is being forced on everyone else in Europe. Where has the idea come from that politicians are ENTITLED to a millionaire lifestyle? There needs to be public exposure why they cost so much. Their incomes and expenses should be CAPPED. A salary of £50k a year should be sufficient. It is much more than most citizens in Europe get. And confined to expenses of £10k to spend as they wish. Confining the EU to one building would considerably reduce travelling costs. What about their CARBON FOOTPRINT? Haven’t they heard of BIKES?
While AUSTERITY is applied to the rest of us we should DEMAND that it is applied to our ruling elite as well.
Thousands of jobs have gone due to “Austerity”. If the government wants to get the country back on its feet and working cuts should have been carried out to preserve as many jobs as possible.
But AUSTERITY is not the only government job wrecking ball. How many jobs have been lost due to unneeded legislation imposed from Brussels? British work and trading standards have generally led the continent. Brussels red tape has destroyed swathes of small business. – Unnecessary.
The government has pandered to transnationals at the expense of local businesses. Foreign ownership has resulted in closures in manufacturing, off-shoring of jobs and bleeding the country of taxes. Money going out of our economy. The government has created conditions favourable to transnationals but detrimental to small and medium sized businesses who do not enjoy the same advantages.
Small businesses can’t afford high business rates. Expensive parking charges deter people from shopping on the High Street. – Government responsibility.
Pubs closing by the hundreds. High taxes on alcohol making going out unaffordable. – Government directly responsible.
OUR GOVERNMENTS, BRITISH AND EU ARE THE MAJOR JOB DESTROYERS.
Austerity, high taxes and red tape – HOW MANY JOBS HAS THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT AND THE EU DESTROYED BETWEEN THEM?
